Katrina is a Lovely Friend....

Post his recent back-to-back successes actor Salman Khan’s stakes have been topping at BO. Never mind that the hectic schedules since the past few months seem to be weighing heavy on the actor’s health, but he’s not slowing down and says, “I enjoy work, so there’s no question of it stressing me.” As we catch him in between his shoots, the DabanggKhan talks about his Eid release with Kareena Kapoor and the other Khans who matter and who don’t...

Do you feel the pressure of delivering hits, especially with your recent back-to-back blockbusters?

Nahin yaar! I’ve never ever let it affect me. If a film works great, you party. If not, you move on. You do hope that the film works, but I don’t think of it as pressure, it's exciting to entertain your audiences.
You and Kareena go back a long way… Does it translate to better chemistry on screen?
Well, I have to force myself to forget for those few minutes in front of the camera that she’s Lolo’s (actress Karisma Kapoor) sister (laughs), but in those few minutes she’s only my heroine and the chemistry shows.
In the film you are playing bodyguard to Katrina Kaif and Kareena… Any favourites?
Both are beautiful women and lovely co-stars...
Does the number game affect you?
The only thing that matters to me is if my audience thinks that my film was paisa vasool or not. The rest can play the number game and feel happy about it.
What about the camps?
The only time I was interested in the camps was when I used to go camping in school!
So all the talk about Team Salman vs Team Shah Rukh Khan?
I treasure loyalty. What you call Team Salman, I call them friends. Aamir’s a good friend, but there’s no team. They are friends who’ve been loyal and stood by me all through. As for the other teams, it’s best to ask their captains. They are the ones who play the games!
Your frenemies often take open digs at you?
If someone gets a high by trying to get my name involved... good for them.
You seem to have become quite a Godfather for a lot of actors whom you’ve taken under your wing?
Arre baap re! I am neither God nor father (laughs). I look at talent from the audience point of view, if there’s potential then they deserve to be seen and if I can help then, why not!
