Salman Khan's visit to Kanpur to promote his film had the city excited.
So excited that some youngsters from the city decided to rope in the star's support for Anna Hazare. And that's when things went out of hand.
A former IIT Kanpur student, Omendra Bharat was leading a group of youngsters who wanted to present Salman with the Gandhi topi, when an altercation between him and Salman's guards took place. "We wanted to get Salman's support for the anti-corruption cause. As soon as he came out of the building where he was promoting his film, Omendra tried to approach his car. Before we knew, Salman's bodyguard, Shera, along with another security guard physically hauled up Omendra and gave him such a hard blow on his chest that Omendra almost fainted," relates Shubham Srivastava, who was with Omendra when all this happened. "We immediately supported Omendra and made him lie down on a footpath nearby and provided him water," informs, Shubham Srivastava, who was present with Omendra when the incident took place.
The group later filed an application with the Kakadeo police station in Kanpur, asking authorities to investigate the issue. Bhupendra Singh Rathi, station officer of Kakadeo police station, confirmed, "Yes, we have received an application from Omendra Bharat against Salman Khan's bodyguard, Shera and we would be investigating the issue. If the complaint is found to be genuine, an FIR will be lodged."
After recovering from the blow, Omendra Bharat, who had floated the Bharat Punar Nirman Dal after passing out from IIT-K, said, "I am shocked at how Salman Khan could direct his bodyguards to assault Anna's supporters. I only wanted to present him with a Gandhi topi in a peaceful manner and enlist his support for the cause."

Meaningless "being human"
ReplyDeleteYou should have beaten them Mr.Shera, I appreciate you pushed them coz they have no right to put their desires on others, specially on those whose time is precious. Salman is not empty headed.
